Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Yapfun does with your information when you use the Yapfun iOS app and this website.

What we collect

• Account details, such as your sign-in identifier and email address if you provide one.
• Your voice recordings during a yap, and the text transcripts made from them.
• Fixes and comeback mistakes created from your transcripts, and your progress (XP, streaks, levels, trophies).
• Your onboarding answers, saved to your account: your goal, level, pain points, topics, daily time and reminder time.
• Yappy's memory: short summaries of your past yaps, which you can reset in Settings.
• Records of your AI consent.
• Your subscription status, which comes from Apple through our subscription provider.
• Your email address, used by our email provider, Resend, to send you sign-in codes.

AI processing

Yapfun uses OpenAI as its AI provider. Your text and voice recordings are sent to OpenAI to transcribe what you say, to write feedback and fixes, and to create Yappy's voice. Our server relays your recordings; the app does not send them to the provider directly. OpenAI processes this data under its API data-usage terms.

The short demo during onboarding turns your speech into text on your device and sends only that text. You can withdraw your AI consent at any time in Settings.

What we store, and for how long

• We don't store your recordings after transcription.
• Transcripts and fixes are kept while your account exists.
• When you delete your account, your data is deleted within 30 days.

Subscriptions

Subscriptions are bought and managed through Apple. Apple handles your payment details; we never see your card number.

Analytics

We use PostHog for product analytics. It is off unless you turn it on. Analytics events never include your recordings, transcripts or other learning content.

Your choices

• Delete your account in the app, or follow the steps at /delete-account.
• Turn analytics (“Anonymous usage stats”) on or off at any time in the app settings.
• Ask questions or requests about your data by emailing support@yapfun.com.
